Ives Quirynen is in his early forties and works in the freight train terminal Combinant in the
Port of Antwerp. As a Marker, he checks in and out the freight that is being handled by the
terminal. Combinant can be seen as the starting point of the new silk route.
Ives is married and has two sons who are passionate about football. Both of them play
football at the Royal Antwerp Football Club, and Ives doesn’t miss a training or match.
Ives would like to see a world where everybody that works lives in social equality. He is an
optimistic atheist, believing that true hapiness lies in helping the others.
